Redware Pottery Pitcher with Blue Floral Design

Description: An excellent example of hand crafted pottery, this small redware jug or pitcher has a hand painted floral design in blue, green and gold on a terracotta background. The design has a charming abstract flair to it. Though it is unmarked, this jug seems to be fairly contemporary and probably originated in Mexico. It stands 4.5" tall and is about 4" across at the widest point and is fairly hefty for its size. There are a few small shallow chips on the rim, but they don't interfere with its beauty as a display piece. As with any pottery with an unglazed interior, this pitcher is for display purposes only.
