Late 19th to early 20th Century
Price: $35.00 USD Description: An early dog figurine, with the characteristic long ears and short legs of the Basset Hound. I don’t know how old this item is - it could be Victorian, or early 20th century. It is matt glaze, not quite true bisque, but very similar - with no maker’s marks, and wear to the paint on the tail and body, where he has been handled over the years. Handpainted eyes, and a black nose - the nose again having some wear to the paint. A large figurine, he measures approx. 5.3/4 inches long, 3.3/4 inches deep and 3.1/2 inches high (14.5cm by 9.5cm by 9cm). His coat colour is pale brown, yellowish tones, with white and pinkish area on snout. No chips or cracks.
