Circa:
1930-1950
Price: $30.00 USD Description: A pair of pokerwork bookends - homemade folk art from the 1930s-50s. The wooden ends are circular, and have a strawberry pattern, with berries, leaves and flowers. The timber is New Zealand Kauri. The ends are mounted to brown hardboard (Masonite) for the part that slides under the books, but this is probably not original. They have been finished in a gloss varnish. A pretty set though, would look great on a pretty bedroom windowsill or dresser.Ends measure 16.25cm high and 13.5cm wide (just under 6.1/2 inches by 5.3/8 inches). Very good usable condition.
