Price: $30.00 USD Description: The Marchioness of Townshend in her Full Court Dress, as worn by her Ladyship on the Queens Birthday, 1806. This is the title of this handsome bookplate engraving - and what an elaborate dress it is! Feathers, lace, tassels, embroidered trim, a headdress and a fan.
Bottom credit reads “London published as the Act directs, for Bell’s Court & Fashionable Magazine, March 1, 1806”.
Engraving measures 22 5 cm by 14.5 cm (8.3/4 inches by 5.3/4 inches). It has an untrimmed edge on what would have been the spine edge, and some staining to the bottom right hand corner. Reverse side has remains of page where it was once mounted in a scrapbook or folio.
Lovely item though, would frame up.

Early to Mid 19th Century
Price: $33.00 USD Description: Little engraving or maybe a print entitled “Miriam” - the bottom small print reads “Singleton Sculp” on the right side, and “J.Dean P....” (indistinct) on the left. Engraving measures 16 cm by 13 cm (6.1/4 inches by 5.1/8 inches).
The border and area of the printed box are somewhat grubby - this item has probably been mounted under a matt before, and this is the result of removing the matt. However, the actual picture area inside the printed box is not damaged, and although you would loose the title (unless you had one of those cut-out matts which reveal the title) it would frame up very well. The actual picture area is 11 cm by 8.5 cm (4.3/8 inches by 3.3/8 inches).
This is a really appealing engraving, Miriam has a lovely face - it would date from early to mid 19th century.
