Price: $14.00 USD Description: Peter Pan: Frontis page description is “J.M.Barrie’s Peter Pan & Wendy, retold by May Byron for Boys and Girls with approval of the Author. Pictures by Mabel Lucie Attwell.”
Published by Hodder & Stoughton Ltd, London. 128 pages, 9 colour illustrations. Hardback, measuring 25.5 cm by 17.5 cm and 2.5 cm thick (10 inches by 7 inches and 1 inch thick). Flyleaf has School Prize sticker: KisseltonSchool. Prize awarded to Edward Worsdale, Standard II, for First in Class. 1930.
Unfortunately young Eddie Worsdale has done a spot of colouring-in in his prize, and most of the black and white chapter heading illustrations have been watercoloured. (Quite well, really). Some-one very young has scribbled on about two of the pages. This book is not in very good condition, as it has a loose binding, a few pages torn at the lower edge, and generally ratty edges. However, the 9 colour illustrations are intact, except one with scribble, and one torn. Charming book, though.
