Price: $46.00 USD Description: The pictures don't begin to show the beauty of this decorative plate by Toyo of Japan. From the cobalt blue of the rim to the deep rose pink of the flowers, this plate is truly a work of art. It measures 10.5" in diameter and the focal point is the large peacock in the center. In fact, he steals the show so much that you may not see his smaller companion on the ground below. His tail is a bright blue with gold and pink eyes, and he is surrounded by blue and pink peonies and a single branch of plum blossoms. The inside rim of the plate is alternating patterns of peonies and single stylized lotus blossoms on a cobalt ground. The outer rim has an entirely different pattern, but repeats the main colors to set the plate off perfectly. If you enjoy Orientalia, you are sure to be utterly enchanted with this decorative plate.

Price: $42.00 USD Description: A plate of wonderful understated elegance. This 12.25" plate is marked by the artist and features two quail in the waving grass. The detail is extraordinary, with the background consisting of tiny individual hexagons with a dot in the center of each one, and the birds having beautifully executed feathers. I believe this plate is hand painted, as the decoration seems to be under the glaze and not over it, and there are a few irregular blurbs of paint in the design if you look really closely. The back of the plate has four medallions with streaming ribbons and the artist's mark in the middle. This plate would make a dramatic statement in any room.
