Cobalt Cut To Clear Crystal Baseless Wine Glass, Germany
Circa: Unknown
Price: $38.00 USD
Description: This lovely cobalt to crystal wine glass is from Germany, and this type of glass was traditionally used in the wine cellars for tasting the various vintages. The baseless shape prevented the user from lingering over his "taste", as in order to put the glass down, he had to finish all of his wine. A new glass was used for every vintage sampled. This is a very fine quality cut crystal glass with a distinct ring. It stands 6.75" tall to the tip of the handle. The cobalt outer layer has been cut with a grape and leaf pattern. The faceted handle is cut with alternating teardrops and diamonds, and there are six panels at the base of the handle. The grape and leaf pattern alternates with a hobstar and fan pattern which makes this piece just sparkle!

We have a slightly different glass with a very similar pattern listed separately.

Insured shipping to the continental USA will be $10.65 for this very delicate glass. Please inquire before ordering for overseas shipping rates.

They are unmarked, but the slight irregularities in the design lead me to believe that they were hand-cut. 4.75" tall. Beautiful coloration and versatile size make these a gift for anyone to enjoy.

Sold in sets of 4 only. Insured priority shipping to the continental USA will be $10.85 for this item. Please contact us for overseas rates.

Meadow Wreath Etch 14 Inch Platter, New Martinsville Glass
Circa: Unknown
Price: $38.00 USD
Description: A beautiful, dramatic 14" crystal sandwich or cake platter in the Meadow Wreath etch by New Martinsville. There is quite a bit of scratching on this platter, but the rim is perfect and there are no chips, nicks or cracks. We've reduced the price to reflect the scratching, which is clearly visible when held to the light but not nearly so noticeable when the platter is flat. This plate would make an excellent centerpiece when combined with a matching bowl.

Baseless Wine Glass, Smoke Cut To Clear Crystal, Germany
Circa: Unknown
Price: $32.00 USD
Description: When I first saw this baseless wine glass, I thought it was a bell without a clapper. The design intrigued me, as did the wonderful coloration. I have found out that it is actually a wine glass from Germany, which was traditionally used in the wine cellars for tasting the various vintages. The shape prevented the user from lingering over his "taste", as in order to put the glass down, he had to finish all of his wine. A new glass was used for every vintage sampled.

This is a very fine quality cut glass piece. The smokey gray bands are luminous and the cut of the handle and the ring of diamonds around the body make this piece just sparkle! The floral etching is exquisite and the gold rim shows no wear.

Priority insured shipping to the continental USA will be $7.85 for this item. Please contact us for volume shipping discounts and overseas shipping rates.

Crystal Cockle Shell Dish with Handle, Elegant Glass
Circa: 1940s
Price: $20.00 USD
Description: This crystal shell shaped dish is made of a heavy and very silky glass. The deep scalloped edge is complemented by the swirling handle and two layers of scallops on the base that give the dish a great deal of elegance and clarity. Its maker is unknown, but the previous owner states it comes from her wedding in 1949. My best guess is that it is an occasional item by Fostoria or New Martinsville. This dish is about 5.5" by 7" and in excellent condition with no flaws noted. It would serve equally well as a relish dish on your buffet, a guest soap bowl in your powder room, or a trinket dish on your vanity.

Priority insured shipping to the continental United States will be $8.75 for this item. Please contact us for volume shipping discounts and overseas rates.

Blackberry Prunt Satin and Crystal Bowls, Davidson Glass

There is a row of blackberry prunts all around the sides, a prunt being a small glass blob that's been fused onto a glass piece. The prunts are bordered by rows of zippers above and below. These bowls will make an elegant statement for your next dinner party or buffet.

This is a very heavy (possibly leaded) crystal bowl with a nice ping to it. It is in very good condition with some roughness on a few of the points of the sawtooth edge, but only one minor chip which is felt more than seen. A lovely accent for your table or sideboard, or put it in a lighted china cabinet and just watch it shine!

Rialto Crystal Bowl with 24 Kt Gold Band
Circa: Unknown
Price: $26.00 USD
Description: Made in Italy by Rialto, this 8.5" diameter bowl has a band of 24K gold trimming the rim. The heavy crystal has a design reminiscent of early 20th Century cut glass, with heavy ribbing on the sides and a starburst at the center surrounded by arches, cut diamonds and fans. There is one fleabite in the rim and minor wear to the gold. A very pretty piece to dress up your dining table.

Brilliant Cut Centerpiece Bowl with Hobstars and Sunbursts
Circa: Unknown
Price: $44.00 USD
Description: A very intricate pattern of hobstars and sunbursts are separated by zipper cuts in this handsome 9" bowl. You will find crosshatching and stars in every little corner created by the main pattern. There are chips in a few of the teeth, but only two of the points have suffered any significant damage, and even that is not noticeable unless you're "up close and personal". Overall, this is an excellent piece of brilliant cut glass.
