The piece has a scalloped rim with a glaze done in brush strokes of grey and taupe to create a vision of an open flower. There is a slight 1/4" glaze miss near the rim on the outside. The pottery is located in North-west Wales.

These thin pottery pieces are free of cracks or hairlines. Very tiny flakes of the cold painted rim are visible upon close inspection. The Isles of Scilly lie 28 miles from Cornwall – off the most South-Westerly point of the UK. Tresco, called England's island of flowers, is one of the five inhabited islands and has the lushest landscape; this is reflected in the painted pottery these potters create. Impressed on bottom: TRESCO, and stamped “Made in England” These pottery items are very rare to find in the US.

This hanging piece is painted and glazed in a wonderful blue with the natural white clay showing through. This pottery company, started by George Nash and Heather Oates, closed in 1981 and the pieces made are becoming more and more difficult to locate, especially in the US. Stamped with the "Marazion" trademark and artist initials.
