View Larger Image   Very Large New Zealand Rimu Wooden Urn.   Description: A beautiful piece - a large urn/vase made of turned New Zealand rimu wood. Made by Paul Beckett some 15 years ago, this piece is a tour de force of wood turning. It stands 58cm (just under 23 inches) high and is 35cm (13.3/4 inches) wide at its widest point. The inside has also been hollowed out, and as a result, the vase is wonderfully light. Rimu has a rich red grain, and this piece looks right at home sitting on an antique cabinet or pedestal. It has a waxed finish. Many hours of patient work have gone into turning a piece this delicate and large.
