It feature solid cherry construction with oak venier and hand carved trim made of solid hardwood. Measures 13 1/2 x 7 x 9 inches. The insert is also solid cherry w/5 compartments. The insert measures 11 x 7.25 x 2 inches, and sets on the carved tramp art ledge inside the box. The insert is about 1 inch shorter than the interior lenghth to allow for shortage of larger items on one side of the box (up to 1 x 7.2 x 5.4 inches). Some of the stain/vanish used to darken the trim pieces has chipped off, but most is still intact. The box is very solid, has a few minor splits in the wood, but none can be seen from the outside making this a very nice looking decorative item.
