View Larger Image   Victorian Letter Opener Bamboo Hand Painted   Description: Offering this lovely old victorian letter opener, looks to be made of bamboo with delicate hand painted floral branches on stem. Rounded end which dates it to the late 1800's to very early 1900's when we still used sealing wax on our envelopes and notes. Measures 9 1/2 inches long x 1 inch wide; nice curved handle with a tiny hole at the end - probably held a silk tassle at one time. Near fine condition, no cracks or splits in the bamboo, painting is all intact. Very minimal wear on rounded end from normal use. A beautiful letter opener for your collection!
