View Larger Image   Copper Crested Dish, Italian.   Description: Don’t really know what this is - looks like a sort of chafing dish, but has no liner. It is made in copper, with three brass paw feet, and a further brass paw which acts as an opener for the lid. There is a screw-in fitting to rear, presumably where a handle was fitted. The hinged lid has a gadrooned edge, and the lid of the dish has a crest engraved into the surface. Two eagles with lions bodies flanking and supporting a crowned shield. Underneath is stamped “Made in Italy”. Item measures 16 cm diameter and about 6.5 cm high (not including the paw lid opener) - or, in inches, 6.1/4 inches diameter and about 2.1/2 inches high.
