Ashe. I.K. Marvel was the pseudonym of Donald G. Mitchell (1822- 1908). A very popular best seller at the time. Ashe was a well known illustrator, and the colour plates are very good. “Reveries” was first published in book form in 1850. This version with the Ashe illustrations was published 1906 by Bobbs-Merill Company, Indianapolis. This book: No. of pages: 338. 16 colour plates plus one on the cover. Two pages still retain their hand-cut edges. Book measures 21 cm. by 14 cm. Excellent condition cover and spine with just a tiny amount of scuff to corners - no dust dulling. Light foxing to page edges when book is closed, mainly on top and front. Some minor foxing inside, mainly to pages before the preface.
