View Larger Image   Chinese Snuff Bottle, Lion in Vegetable Ivory.   Description: Old signed snuff bottle carved in vegetable ivory - probably coquilla nut, or coroza. Quite large, carved in the shape of a mythical winged lion. Top has dipper spoon attached, also vegetable ivory. Bottle measures 6.4 cm high, 5.1 cm long and 1.4 cm deep (2.1/2 inches by 2 inches by 1/2 inch). Bottle is curved, presumably following the shape of the nut. Signature is under the left front paw.
