Pretty dolls head, handmade and home made - it is a technique where stockings were used, coated in stiffeners and paint. Head is stuffed with 1950s newspaper. This head was made by the grandmother of its last owner - she made all the toys for her family during the Depression, and on into the early 1950s. Dolly has a loop on her head, which has a ribbon in it. You can see the texture of the stocking fabric, but she is beautifully made and painted. Some damage to the neck area and one little glueable split on her right ear, otherwise very good original condition. Head measures about 14 cm high and 9.5 cm wide (5.1/2 inches by 3.3/4 inches).
