Brass and Glass Chafing Dish with Bamboo Design on Lid and Pyrex Bowl
Description:
This unusual chafing dish has a brass lid with a glass inset that reminds me of a bent glass pattern in the school of Georges Briard. The pattern features bamboo shoots and leaves and has a textured background. The brass lid has unfortunately suffered some damage with some fairly long scratches and one spot of pitting. The finish on the inside of the lid is also flawed, but it might be possible to refinish it. The casserole has a brass stand with a tea light holder. The chafing dish is 9.75" in diameter and 6.5" tall without the lid's handle. This is such a unique piece that we just had to list it in spite of the flaws, especially since it comes with the original Pyrex bowl, as many vintage pieces do not. This serving dish will add sparkle to your next buffet.
