With tiny slivers of wood meticulously placed in geometric precision, this hand crafted trinket or ring box has two bright red fish swimming on its lid. The box measures about 3" by 4" and is finished inside in bright red satin. The back of the box is finished with decorative paper. There is a Made in China label inside with four Chinese characters. The seller stated her mother owned this box for at least 25 years, but I can't offer an opinion as to its age. Regardless of that, it would seem to have taken hours if not days of work to complete the design, and it is a charming and whimsical vanity accessory.
