View Larger Image   Borghese Music Box Princess Marcella   Description: This is a very nice quality sound music box marked "PRINCESS MARCELLA BORGHESE" on the inside lid area, pressed into the felt material along with a family crest. The box measures 7" x 12" x 3.5". It's in good shape, a very nice quality sound comes from the hand wind musical movement! The crank lever is marked "S" so we are assuming this is a Sanyo movement, most likely made in Japan. The song is "ARRIVEDERCI, ROMA" (good-bye Rome). The interior is very clean and nice, a few very minor scuffs, the exterior has a antique red/orange paint with a leave and scroll design on the top and front side. The paint has some tiny chips and several minor dings on it, about 98% of the paint is intact. This hardwood box has a very nice 7" long brass hinge, and is nicely made.
