View Larger Image   Royal Doulton Kenilworth Castle Plate.   Description: From the Historic England series, this sandwich plate shows Queen Elizabeth I at Kenilworth Castle riding with presumably the Earl of Leicester. (Kenilworth was the home of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, who was the favourite of Queen Elizabeth). Pattern number D5940. This series was introduced in 1938 and withdrawn circa 1952. Plate measures 23 cm by 18.5 cm (9 inches by 7.1/4 inches).
