View Larger Image   Black Forest Box With a Secret Compartment & Lock With Key   Description: A Carved Bow and flowers adorn the top of the box. Under the lock is a carved swag ribbon with flowers and the sides have a smaller version of the swag ribbon with a flower in the center. Each bottom corner has a carved rosette. The interior holds a delightful surprise in the lid. There is a carved wreath flanked by flowers.The year 1922 is carved into the center. The sliding door reveals an area to hide money or special treasures. Very well made to appear as just part of the design and not a hidden compartment. There is a lock with key. The key works but the lock needs to be adjusted. The surround is spotted. The box has a 14" width by 7 1/2" depth and is 4 1/2" high. A few nicks here and there with a top area of a side ribbon missing. There are two small splits to the wood on top which are on the side areas and are an inch in length.
