View Larger Image   Manchester Unity Oddfellows Lodge Collar or Sash.   Description: Vintage Lodge collar from the order of Oddfellows, including two medals. Bears the label for Henry Slingsby Ltd, Regalia and Masonic Clothing Manufacturers, Nuneaton” (which is in England). Sash is embroidered in gold thread “Past Grand M U” and “Auckland District O. F.” Purple velvet with purple silk lining, and ornate gold tasselling to the edges. It has a wonderful gold covered ball at the front centre. Has two medals attached: One is for Manchester Unity Friendly Society (base metal with ribbons and brooch top) and the other is much older,made in silver, with enamelled front “Independent Order of Oddfellows Manchester Unity”. Hanging from base metal brooch attachment. Collar/sash measures about 70 cm long or diameter front to back (about 27.1/2 inches). Inside is glued label for “Sis. K. Crapp”. (Sister - so this was a woman’s collar).
