Orange lustre 1930’s Byzanta Ware jardiniere by Grimwades, England. Monochrome black and shaded design of grapes and vine leaves. Black rim. Measurements: 20 cm high and about 24 cm diameter (8 inches by 9.1/2 inches). Condition is basically very sound with just minor faults: 2.5 cm small hairline from rim (1 inch), some wear and crazing to finish inside bottom of pot, and some white marks in the lustre glaze on the lower outside section, where it turns under. Various small mottles to the glaze - overall effect is very good however, and it’s a very handsome pot. Circa 1930s.
