View Larger Image   Bridgeport Screwdriver Heavy Duty Machinist w/Wood Handle   Description: Offering this nice hard to find 9" long x 5/8" wide at tip, machinist's heavy duty screwdriver, clearly marked "BRIDGEPORT U.S.A." on the steel. This is a good+ useable machinist tool, build with a similar style to the later stanley "HURWOOD" screwdrivers, also much like the H.D. Smith & Co. "PERFECT HANDLE" screwdrivers. The wood handle is in the "PERFECT HANDLE" style with two wood segments that are solid, tightly attached. The wood has some dings but with less than normal wear, the steel is clean very nice tip, no pitting or rust noted, clean and in good+ condition overall. You'll like the feel of this one on those heavy duty applications! The square shank is designed to be used with an adjustable wrench if need be for additional leverage, for this reason, called a machinist or machanics screwdriver as both ofter require more torque than wood working type screwdrivers would.
