Preserving the past for the future.

Item: Magnificent Rare Cased Sterling Silver/24ct Gold Royal Sovereign Spoon. A magnificent and Rare opportunity to acquire a Cased Set of English Sterling Silver Spoons made by Royal Silversmith maker John Pinches of London. The spoons depicts the 500 years reign of British Queens. The set was commissioned to celebrate the SilverJubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. They were a limited addition only made available to the English Speaking Union of Commonwealth and was a members only edition. One set was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II herself. These spoons were only made for the Silver Jubilee and will never be replicated. Each spoon depicts a famous Monarch of her time. Mary I (1553-1558) Elizabeth I (1558-1603) Mary II (1689-1694) Anne (1702-1714) Victoria (1837-1901) Queen Elizabeth II (1952-)

All made of Sterling Silver and the Cameo Portrait to front and reverse embellished in 24 Carat Gold. The detailing to the Monarch’s are superb and I have provided numerous pictures to observe. Above the monarch’s cameo portrait is the English Tudor Rose, this also carries to the bottom of the Cameo. Also to the reverse carries the engraving of the Monarch’s name and reign in succession and again the Tudor Rose top and bottom. Outer edge beading around the cameo and reverse. The stems of the spoons have a wonderful barley flow design, this also carries through to the reverse. A nice teardrop bowl. All spoons have a highly polished silver finish and the 24 carat embellished gold again is highly polished. The spoons have never been personalised or spoilt with monograms or graffiti . The case in which they are housed is of a red velvet outer casing, to the inside a wine red velvet lower base, to the upper lid is a cream silk padded lining with the inscription. The Sovereign Queens Spoon Collection Members Edition. To the outer edge of the case inside top and bottom finished in a mahogany coloured wood. Comes with the brochure still intact, which gives full details of the set. John Pinches family has been Royal Silversmith’s since the early Reign of Queen Victoria. I have seen many collectable commemorative spoons but have never come across a set of this calibre to date. Each spoon in 1977 was valued at £22.50 without the presentation case, which was 35 years ago For the collector or serious investor of Royal Collectables or English Sterling Silver. Made in England’s most famous Silversmith town Sheffield.
