Really nice and authentic 1 Quart Dazey churn. 1-Qt. is embossed at top of 1 quart glass jar.  Circle label also vividly reads DAZEY CHRN & MFG. CO. and ST. LOUIS. U.S.A..  At the bottom of the jar, MADE IN AMERICA makes this a harder to find rarity.  

Other authenticity verification points include 10H embossed on handle, 20 and G on either side of the large toothed gear, and 10 on the center of the gear housing.  The large gear also has wedge-shaped holes. The 2\" wooden handle is solid and attached with a steel rivit, no cracks or chips. Also, the rivets holding the crank mechanism to the lid passed the magnet test ... the rivets are steel, also. The center of the bottom, outside of the jar has a slightly raised circular mold mark.

We are not Dazey butter churn experts. But we knew when we spotted this in a vintage/antique store that we were looking at something special. To help us authenticate the churn\'s originality and age, we researched on-line and conversed with long time churn collectors. • 1 quart glass jar is chip and crack free, very solid.  It does have some bubbles, which is a normal circumstance of the early 20th century glass manufacturing process.

This churn shows the usual signs of patina from use, indicative of age. For it\'s age, it is very clean and shows little sign of rust or corrosion.
