For the Night of the Living Dead collector looking for acollection milestone – lot of 18 original 8x10 publicity stills from Image Ten/ The Latent Image / Hardman Associates for Night of the Living Dead under the early titles Night of the Flesh Eaters and Night of Anubis. Rarely seen pieces of cinema history. Doubtful that you will ever come across a lot this large again of Anubis and Flesh Eaters stamped Night of the Living Dead original photos. 2018 is the 50th anniversary of the classic George Romero film. Among the many extremely rare photos included in this lot are:
-- A fantastic and RARE Behind the Scenes Portrait of thecast on the Farm House Porch.
-- A shot of Harry and Helen from the infamousbasement cut scene (signed on the front of the photo by Karl Hardman in 1971).
- -A shot of Marilyn Eastman as Helen holding herhead (not in the film). Signed on the back with a handwritten note by MarilynEastman to a fan. Dated 1971.
Unique lot in that it includes, but NOT PICTURED, the originalmailing envelope and a two page letter on Hardman Associates stationary whichis signed by Karl Hardman responding to an early fan letter in 1971. Karl sentthe fan, the publicity photos (the ones without the HFC label on back and stampedNight of the Flesh Eaters) in appreciation for his kind words on the film.
Condition of the 8x10 photos vary (different types of wear/use/etc.usually on the back of photos but not in all cases) and may include marks onthe front or back. I’ve mentioned major condition wear/use below. Three photoslook like a tape strip was pulled off the back of the photo near the bottom leavinga orange residue from age. Pleaserealize these are some of the earliest release photos from the 1968 film with the original titles on them and werecreated to publicize the film in it’s “pre-release” state so they all will havewear/use to varying degrees.
