$295.55

What we have here is a Gorgeous Old circa 1800s item in the form of a Beautifully Crafted Native American Horn Spoon, likely Lakota Sioux Plains. Handle loosely wrapped with old brown thread (thread may have originally supported quill wrap). Measures 9 inches long by 2 7/16 inches wide. Stand not included in purchase. PROVENANCE: Collected by Theodore Kepner Long (1856 - 1947) and then by gift to the Carson Long Military Academy. Raised in Millerstown (Pa.), Long attended Yale Law School before relocating to North Dakota where he became publisher of the Mandan Pioneer. He rose to prominence in the legal profession becoming a States Attorney for lands West of the Missouri River in 1885 and Attorney for N.P.R.R. Bismark North Dakota in 1887. The then moved to Chicago in 1894 before returning to New Bloomfield Pennsylvania and founding Carson Long Military Academy in 1914. Just look at this wonderful hand made item, nice shape and colour. Used old condition... all my items may have wear, weathering soiling/staining, chips, holes, scratches, cracks, rubs, stains/soiling, losses, repairs and other imperfections etc as expected and common to such pieces... see photos for over all condition. I do not know the exact age but from 1800s... please look at photos and you determine to your best judgment the age, condition, what this is, its authenticity and what this is worth.
