Neill, the WIZARD Of OZ Illustrator at the time, with an introduction by L. Frank Baum. J. R. NEILL COLOR ILLUSTRATIONS after H. BANNERMAN -- They do not even acknowledge her as author!! L. FRANK BAUM Introduction, NEILL ILLUSTRATED, FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, by REILLY & BRITTON --Later Edition was issued by Reilly & Lee! VERY NICE Condition, with front decorated board slightly crackled (not creased),rectangular color pictorial paste-on over holly berry background, BURGUNDY quarter faux leather with gilt decorations & spine title (a bit of gilt loss only), some light tip & edge rubbing. Interior Complete with no loose pages, with all 56 numbered pages (actually twice that many, but the 28 FULL PAGE COLOR ILLUSTRATED Pages & their blank versos aren\'t numbered), plus colophon page & only two ad pages in rear -- all later printings have 3. Both front & rear pastel teal decorated end papers present with \"Christmas stocking series\" centered, rear hinge starting to crack. No Names or writing, No loose or damaged pages, and remarkably Clean Interior. Nearly Impossible to find, especially Complete & in This Condition. FIRST EDITION of this KEY Original Title in this Adorable Series!
