1930\'S NAVAJO INGOT SILVER HOOP EARRINGS 12.1 GMS TUCSON ESTATE For Sale

From a Harold Bell Wright Historic Neigborhood estate in Tucson some years ago and a bringback remembrance from some long ago visit to Northern Arizona (or perhaps purchased from one of the fabled curio shops right here in the Old Pueblo) is this delightful I believe 1930\'s or possibly 1940\'s pair of Navajo dapped ingot silver earrings, construction features fully indicative of an artisan hand making in those times. The uncommon duo has great visual charisma , the hand accomplished stamp work adding to the distinctly vintage look. They reflect the skill of a tribal craftsman still working by old time hand accomplished means to satisfy the trader channeled aesthetic demands of a visitor clientele (though these could just as easily served local needs), as good new roads finally opened the American Southwest for tourism - thank you, Franklin Roosevelt. Weight is exceedingly good for the form at about 12.1 grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine and with a wonderful aura of real age as seen in the pics. I have avoided any urge to polish, and personally feel they would look fabulous if worn about just as is. These would have originally dangled from ear wires, now missing...easy enough to replace or choose screwback or post fittings if and when desired. One soldered loop shows an ancient patinated break on one end, something that will have no bearing on use and likely served just so in the long ago (see pics). There are otherwise just typical and expected and in this case minor signs of period purposeful use, here simply more evidence of the real thing. A look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition…classic, and a beautiful pair that will look fabulous when dangling from ear wires. Size is about 1 1/4 in. high (vertical - not counting the attached loop); about 7/16 in. wide at the bottom. If you collect earlier 20th Century Southwestern tribal referenced silver adornment and especially Navajo artworks as this, or simply wish this single improvement to the ambiance of each day, this will have great meaning for you.
