This rare vintage* male nude beefcake photograph by photographer BOB MIZER dates from the late 1940s or early \'50s and features popular beefcake model JOHN WINSHIP posing in the studio, flanked by a pair of roosters.

At first glance you might miss the fact that there are two roosters standing just behind his shoulders on the edge of the chair in which he is seated.

The reverse is stamped with early AMG photo set number ZH 4.

Mizer described handsome, hunky, tattooed, uncut Winship as follows:

\"Height 5\'10\" Weight 189 # Biceps 16 1/2 ... John is just about as rugged in person as in his pictures. Once, when boozed-up he got into a gang fight and besides putting his opponents out of commission, he proceeded to tear off their car door and bent the gear shift rod into a pretzel.\"

Bob Mizer\'s Athletic Model Guild
Photographer Bob Mizer got his start photographing Hollywood\'s less-hopefuls in his garage as early as the mid-1940s. For a few bucks their photos were listed in the catalog of the Athletic Model Guild, the purpose of which was to furnish models for artists and photographers. However, as Mizer\'s photographs became as popular as the models, he developed a trademark style that included projected backgrounds and lavish props.

Condition
The 4-by-5-inch vintage photograph is beautifully printed in warm tones on heavy stock and is in very good condition. Quality and clarity are very good.
