ANTIQUE 1938 RCA Victor Reptile PURSE RADIO 8BX5 Golden Throat TUBE Exc+++ For Sale

This is an sale for an antique 1938 RCA VICTOR Purse Radio Model 8BX5. This \"GOLDEN THROAT\" radio features faux reptile leather covering, original handle, original tubes, original cord, battery, etc. The condition is as was found, meaning, with minimal cleaning this radio will look mint. The inside also looks pristine, see fotos. One of the small cover hinges needs repaired, see foto. The back is opened by the 2 small spring loaded balls, which are pulled out, then up. I plugged the radio in and could not hear anything, the tubes look excellent, not blackened. If anyone has any ideas on what area needs inspecting to possibly revive this radio, please email. The radio tuning dial moves freely. The on/off knob clicks on and moves freely, see right side of radio. The condition is excellent+++++, no cracks in bakelite, no repairs, nothing missing, faux alligator skin at top is starting to peel a tiny bit, handle is strong, see fotos. The antenna is wrapped around the perimeter of the inside. Please ignore any stray yellow reflections. The size is 11\" wide x 9\" high x 4 3/4 inches. Weight is almost 9lbs.
