We are offering an excellent example of JAPANESE BANKO pottery. This little TEAPOT has been executed using several different colors of clay to create a marbled tapestry effect. Potter has also applied a floral design that gives it a unique, subtle design. Potters mark is on side of pot (see photos).
Teapot is in excellent conditions for its age (c1910) with only typical wear to gold trim and several dark spots on bottom that are probably from resting on a burner/warmer. There are no signs of repairs, chips, cracks, scratches, or crazing. Bamboo swing handle appears to be original.
Teapot is approximately 5 1/4\" tall and 7 0\" wide including spout.
