Here is a 100+ YEAR OLD 28\" wood rim wheel SET with New Departure hub for your prewar, turn of the century, up to teens WOOD RIM bicycle!

They come exactly as shown. They are 28\". The rear one has 36 spokes. The front one has 32 spokes. They came off the same bike long ago! Great for display or install on your favorite bicycle. They have survived better than most which are shaped like a taco at this point. Great for display or restoration! That cool era of bikes such as Schwinn, Mead Ranger, Elgin, Hawthorne, Hiawatha, Pope, Columbia, Harley Davidson, Davis Sewing, Iver Johnson, Indian, Flying Merkel, etc etc etc. There were many manufacturers back then and almost none of this stuff survived!

*The bikes and parts of this era are very cool and are a super RARE find in ANY condition these days! Have you ever heard of the World War 2 Scrap Drives? Basically the government collected up anything that was made of metal to help out with the war efforts. It gave communities a great sense of pride to donate ANY extra pots, pans, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, etc to help produce items for the war effort. If people had 2 pans and only realyl needed one, they would give up the extra. So, this era of motorbikes were almost 20-30+ years old at the time. They were simply considered used bicycles then so very few of them survived. I am really happy the items I have available right now did survive!

Sold as is because it is used. The New Departure rear hub could be overhauled. (Brake arm is not tight in place) VIEW ALL PICS for exact condition BEFORE you offer! I took many and have nothing to hide!

Think about this... if the date I was told is correct, Schwinn Bicycle Company was LESS THAN 10 YEAR OLD when these bikes and parts were produced! WOW!

Sorry for the higher cost of shipping! This is due to the size and volume of the box that this takes up on the shipping truck. I always try to keep things as reasonable as I can but dont want to take a large loss either. If you would just want the hub and NOT the hoop, I can have my guy remove it. (I have to pay him to do so) I could ship JUST the cut out hub for $14.95 (lower 48 only) if that would be of interest to you. I wont dicount the sale price as I will just discard the hoop and spokes anyway. Just a thought if It will help you out. I hope maybe someone out there can straighten this one out! Is that possible?
