Here for sale is this beautiful Rosenthal piece of a standing Donkey foal / Somalian Wild Ass foal (Mule) - handmade and handpainted fired porcelain in excellent condition. This figurine was first formed in the Art Deco or Victorian / Art Nouveau period by the highly regarded german manufactury Rosenthal, Selb, Bavaria, Germany. Formed by the famous sculptor Fritz Heindenreich in the year 1954, signed with HEIDENREICH under the figurine. This figurine is extremely RARE to find in this painted version. It has an hallmark of about 1960. The figurine impresses through the stunning details & beautiful painting. Tremendous Figurine, outstanding details, very lifelike situation.

Fritz Heidenreich was a ceramist and sculptor. He was a Rosenthal employee from 1919 to 1960, andfrom 1946 onwards the head of the art department in Selb. His artistic activities did not merely end with sculptingwildlife or birds in porcelain - he also tried to find contemporary ways of expressing his sense of forms.
The most excellent proof of his works for Rosenthal may be the group of fish »Scalare«.
