Fresh out of an estate. The treasure being offered today is:
- Antique Engraved Gold Case Retractable Mechanical Pencil RARE
- Purchased on a buying trip in Europe
- Pencil is encased in a solid gold and is exquisitely engraved from top to bottom
- The top section looks very regal and fancy - like it belongs in a palace
- At its peak is a bezel set light purple color faceted stone - either a quartz or crystal jewel seal
- The top unscrews to reveal a well for storing extra leads
- When ring is pushed down, a leaded mechanical pencil is revealed; this ring needs to be tightened to remain extended to write
- Open: 5 inches (12.7 cm) long; Closed: 4 inches (10.2 cm); Diameter at top: 1/2 inch (13mm)
- Weighs 23 grams
- Very nice antique condition with only minor age appropriate wear; no lead in pencil; push ring needs to be tightened
