Antique German Military Regimental Beer Stein Bavarian 3 Bayr.Inf.Rgt. Augsburg c.1910
Description: Original regimental (Reservisten) stein c.1913. Belonged to Reservist Georg Wagner I of 1.Company of 3d Bavarian Infantry Regiment named after Prinz Carl of Bayern stationed in Augsburg in 1908 - 1910.
Made of hard porcelain with lithophane in the bottom showing a soldier saying farewell to his sweetheart. Magnificent figural lid with a soldier standing by the Bavarian Lion with Heraldic Lion representing the Kingdom of Bavaria for the thumblift.
The bottom of the stein is damaged - there is a glued hole in it. It was a custom in some German families to make a hole in the bottom of someone\'s very special stein when the owner dies, so nobody could drink from it again. There are many Regimental and also occupational stein with this kind of pierces holes. There is no other damage or repair.
It is 11.5\" tall, 0.5L capacity.
