Well this is an interesting clock and is perfect for the right buyer (no purists) because it is New England, the dial is original to the case along with the seat board, wavy glass, and original feet with no repair or loss of height.
This came from an estate sale in Ohio of a family returning to New England after many years here. The clock was change to an 8-day time & strike movement in 1985 (see pic), in CT. That\'s where the family is from and where the clock supposedly originated. It\'s early, evidenced by the dovetailed bonnet with 4 columns, very bold cove moldings, chamfered side panels. The case is of mixed woods and was refinished many years ago.
The German movement is nice for a replacement, runs fine and strikes on a bell both on the hour and half hour. This clock is IDEAL for \'early\' lovers who don\'t want the hassle of 30 hour, wind-every-day clocks. With the waist door closed it looks fine, unaltered. The dial is repainted; the original winding holes are plugged and the new ones allow winding of the 1985 movement.
So, it\'s a very nice antique clock and priced according to the altered state.
Measures 90\" high, 20\" wide, 12\" deep.
