Antique Vanderman Stagecoach Strong Box/ Tool Box w/ Lock and Key For Sale

You are offerding on a piece of the Wild West. This authentic Stage Coach Strong box/ Tool Chest would sit on the top of the stage coach holding all the valuables.This was the most protected item of the stage as money, documents, jewels and mail would be stored in this chest. This was the item the stages were held up for. This could also have been part of the early railroads as these were also used to carry tools.Imagine the stories this box could tell. Was it part of the Wells Fargo service? Was one of the railroad barons transported west with this box? Was this carrying gold from California back from the goldrush?The brass lock and Keyare included however it does not lock. The strong box was built by Vanderman in Connecticut. Built in the USA.The dimensions are 26\" X 15\" X 14\" This is the 3 banded version of the chest
It\'s made of metal and wood. The lock and Key are brassfromthe W Rohannan Co of Brooklyn NY

The chest has some rust on the bottom but it is in excellent condition.

It appears the chest has been restored somewhat and the metal painted previously brown . The wood has a treatment on it for preservation.
