BING & GRONDAHL (B & G) figurine of a GREENLANDER INUIT #2412, showing a Greenland Inuit (Eskimo) holding a young child – the child being as warmly dressed as the adult!Simon Kristoffersen is a Greenlandic artist, from a family of artists that creates figurines and sculptures in soapstone. At least 6 designs by his more famous father Karl Kristoffersen were made into porcelain figurines by Bing & Grondahl, but this is the only one by Simon Kristoffersen, and the only double figurine in the series. Here Bing & Grondahl again captures in porcelain the roughhewn style of Inuit soapstone sculptures. Approximately 7.25 inches (about 18.5 cm). Beautifully detailed in the best Bing & Grondahl tradition. Introduced sometime around 1970 and discontinued before 1984. Fully marked, including the three tower trademark of BING & GRONDAHL.EXCELLENT CONDITION (no chips, cracks, repairs or other defects), and FIRST QUALITY (no scratch through the trademark).
