Very chatoyant blue with red fiber strands scattered here and there throughout the slab. There is a large group of gold fibers mixed in with some red on one side and then more of the gold fiber scattered here and there. You will be able to create some very nice two sided cabs with all three colors. I would do both, two sided cabs and take a few slabs from the side and create some smaller cabs as the material is wide enough for this. create some nice drops!! Lots of options, lots of cabs because you have lots of material. the biggest selling point to this slab other then the gorgeous blue is the fact that you will have little to no waste because there is NO MATRIX!!!! This has been picked clean on one side and is rough sawed on all other sides. This will be the best piece of cabbing rough you will own. Lock it away in your collection and let it build value as supplies are not nearly as nice as they used to be when there was more material available. What you see now usually has allot of matrix mixed in and can be a gamble when cut and finished. While cabs with matrix still are nice, they do not compare with a 100% chatoyant pietersite cab without matrix. With this material there are no surprises at all. you get what you see, you use all of what you buy, the garbage only sees dust.There are no problems with this slab. Like I said, one side has been picked clean of all matrix leaving a very bumpy surface with a few pot holes but in any case there is still plenty of material to use in those exact spots because it is so thick, Again no waste here. My price represents per gram what I sold my last piece for so please consider that if you plan to make an offer because this material never sits long in my store and you might be better served if you just bought it at the bin price.
All rock slabs have inherent surface blemishes (beauty marks) such as pitting, shrinkage, soft spots and fracturing. PHOTOS
Measurements are taken at the widest spots. Photos with a tape measure are taken dry on both sides so that you can better see any of natures beauty marks. All other pictures are taken with the material wet for a polished look. I do my best to photograph and describe each item as accurately as possible. I now take all pictures outdoors when the sun is going down as this seems to produce the best results. I painstakingly insure that all photos are accurate and have the best color representation possible. It is not always perfect, please understand this.
Most Rocks have naturally occurring healed and unhealed thermal fractures, pits, vugs and voids. This is nature’s design and is what makes them unique. These characteristics can be worked into your designs or worked around or sealed. It is up to you. I will never sell an item that you cannot, at the least, pull a cab from. All slabs shown are rough from the saw and most likely have a saw lip and will require grinding and polishing for a final finish.
