Isis (Aset) is the most famous Goddess in Ancient Egyptian religious beliefs, whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world. Isis was revered as the \"Great Enchantress\". She was the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus. She was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. Her magic was allied to the wisdom of Thoth and was given to mankind as a skill of healing. Isis performed for the first time in history, the rites of embalmment to restore Osiris to eternal life. She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans, and the downtrodden, and she listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats, and rulers. Isis is also known as protector of the dead and goddess of children.
