Bogen & Tanenbaum USN WW-2 REPRO AN-6552, M-422A, G-1, A-2 LEATHER FLIGHT JACKET:
$1250.00

You are now admiring another one of myfine USN jackets I recently reproduced. In this case a size 44 Bogen & Tanenbaum AN-6552. As an avid vintage jacket enthusiast I both restore and reproduce jackets like seen here in this listing. All the jackets that I reproduce were painstakingly & expertly patternedusing jackets from my personal collection. In this case, it is an accurate reproduction of a classy looking late War USN favorite of mine. This B&T AN-6552jacket offered hereis absolutely brand new and has never been worn.

An original but just smaller size Bogen and Tanenbaum flight jacket from my collection was used to come up with this now most accurate pattern design. Made with very appealing vegetable tanned aniline dyed goat hide I specially sourced from France. Much like those seen originally. This hide used approximates 1.1 to 1.2 MM placing this jacket in a medium weight hide class. This jacket’s goat hide exhibits a very soft hand by and as a result break in will be minimal.

As seen, this jacket is brown in color with just enough luster & shine to emulate those original jackets. Furthermore, this hide has a pleasing grain which nicely compliments this jacket. As a result it looks stunning! Being a late war jacket it was stitch using like era nylon thread. On the inside, this particular jacket’s lining is also a same rayon as original.

For closure & to give the jacket a even more complete authenticity a late War NOS & absolutely correct blackened Conmar zipper assembly was added. This jacket being a late War AN model jacket it was stitched using a like nylon thread as found on that original jacket used to pattern this reproduction. Same keyhole button hole as those found original to the jacket. Done using my refurbished Reece Keyhole Buttonhole machine and same as used back in the day. The lining material sourced for this jacket is a viscose rayon and quite nearly the same in every way as found on those original, As are the 100% wool rib rack single ply mid brown knits. The mouton collar comes from a well preserved same period garment.

As for the fit, this particular jacket was built to best fit someone close to 6’ and approximately 200 lbs and just under 6\'. Please note, this is a true mil spec jacket. Because it was patterned exactly form an original it fits semi snug & has limited gut room. Please keep in mind that I can build another size jacket that might make a better match for any particular body type.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss. If interested in this B&T jacket, get me your particulars to see if this jacket would make for a good fit! Again, if this one does not work, another can be built from scratch in any size or even using another make.

This jackets dimensions are as follows:

Body length (at back from the collar’s base to hem) 25 1/2 to 26”

Front length (along the zip track from collar edge to hem) 22 3/4”

Shoulders 19 1/2”

Sleeve Length 25 1/2” to 26”

Armpits From Back 24”

Waist 22”

Note, those measurements seen above were taken with the jacket laying on a flat surface and spread out.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or discuss. If interested in this jacket, get me your particulars to see if this jacket would make for a good fit! Again, if this one does not work, another can be built from scratch in any size or even using another make.

S&H will be via USPS Priority in a Medium size box. It will be insured and require a signature. Will ship outside of USA.

As an aside, I thought to include some additional pix of an optional build. Currently, working on a completely different war era jacket & another one of my jackets for your consideration. In this case, a War era Monarch jacket and favorite make. Seen in the last pix are two of my AN-J-3A & AN-J-3 (civilian type leather collared) and last the only true Large size war era Monarch jackets I\'ve ever encountered in 10 years of collecting & I own them all. In the pix (#9 # 10 & #11) are examples of one of those War era Monarch jackets spawned by my originals.
Done using correct colored 100% cotton thread, vegetable tanned goat hide to exactly duplicate those built back in they day. On the inside, a high end rayon sourced from the UK. Correct matching dull purple knits and NOS correct Talon.
I took the time to restore those Monarchs seen in that last pic. While at it I took those jackets apart. Right down to their individual pieces and completelyresurrectedthem to obtain the most accurate patterns.
Notwithstanding, I own originals from this same contract from a size 36 through 46 making it a snap for me to do an even larger accurate same jacket.
The AN model 20570 contract Monarchs came avaialble early on. Thus making them possible to have been combat worn. To include one that was owned by a USAA Iwo Jima P-51 pilot who obviously traded for it. The other was worn by a USN TBM Avenger pilot that did 17 strike missions during the Battle of Okinawa. Both those jackets are currently patterned. Only now having had the time to do two jacket builds using those combat worn jackets. They are seen in the last three images attached.
Note, although not included in this B&T AN-6552 jacket\'s sale I have attached those War era Monarch\'s seen in the last four images. Also shown are originals. In addition, I have originals from my personal collection in that same 1943/1944 Mil Spec contract in sizes 36 through 46. All taking me some 10 years to accumulate! Now easy enough for me to build as needed. Something I am most excited about doing.
Please contact me with any questions.I guarantee satisfaction. If you are lucky enough to purchase any of my jackets, look it over, try it one and if you are not happy with what you find just send it back. That is providing it was unworn. I will refund all with the exception of the S&H fares.

S&H will be via USPS Priority in a Medium size box. It will be insured (why the higher than the $13.65 base price) and requires a signature. Will ship outside of USA.
