This is a beautifulCaddo culture bowl with Ripley Engraved\"Friendship\" design around the rim.It is one of my favorite bowls because of its design and meaning.. For reference please see \"Prehistoric Caddo Indian Pottery\" by Sam Johnson--Caddo Trading Company --Caddo Press 1981 item # 35
The bowl is burnt orange in color. It is 6 3/8\" in diameter and is 3\" tall. Theinciseddesign work comes down about 1\" from the rim to a shoulderand encircles the entire bowl. The design isencased by lines encirling the entire bowl atits top and bottom. The bowlhasthe proper \"V\" shape lower portionwith a slight flare at the rim.
The bowl has been re-glued ( as can be seen in the pictures) and hasa small amount of fill on rim. The bowl is 99% original, is very sturdy and 100% intact. It was found in East Texas/Western Arkansas.
It is a wonderful Caddobowl to be added to any native American collection.
