This rare, all original, high grade, Chelsea Clock most likely came from the engine room of a large Navy battleship. This features large rectangular movement with 11 jewels, compensated balance & silver colored non- magnetic hair spring. The clock is in excellent running order, but has not been serviced runs true. The back of the heavy brass case carries the serial number 127367 & the movement has a special serial number 127387. Some one in the Chelsea factory mistook the 8 for 6 during the assembly.
The dial plate diameter is 6\", front bezel 7 1/4\", rear flange 7 5/8\", depth 2 1/2\". The original dial ring is present, the screw off bezel works smoothly for both on & off. Nice, original blue steel hands, large seconds dial. Also has the key.
A great, rare, historically important Chelsea Clock built for the U. S. Navy. This was shipped 2/6/1919 to a U. S. N. “Supply Officer”. This info is from the factory supply ledger.
