Chelsea U.S. Army Message Center M2 Clock with Case - Recently Serviced NICE For Sale

This 6” Marine Mechanical Message Center Clock, Mark 2 version, was originally sold to the U.S. Military in the 1950s. The clock itself is housed in a high-impact, black phenolic case with hinged bezel, and features a black dial displaying 12/24-hour military time with white numerals, white hands, and an additional red GMT hour hand. The dial is marked with “U.S. Army, Clock Message Center, M2\", and features a Fast/Slow regulator wheel. The 12E movement (time-only mechanism) has been completely overhauled. In addition, new hour/minute hands and dial have been installed. The restored wood case has its original latches with a new leather strap, and its original Key. The wood case has 2 small age cracks, but is in otherwise beautiful condition. Case measures 10 ½” tall by 9 ¼” wide by 5 ½” deep, serial # 613777. Serial number on the case matches the serial number on the clock movement. You could definitely find one at a cheaper price, but why take a chance on a clock you have no idea the last time it was serviced, and may go bad at any day. This clock will last and run for decades to come. It would be difficult to find a clock and case in better condition. The clock and case display beautifully as is evident in the posted photographs.
