Framed Commemorative Certificate presented to 1st Lieutenant Thomas J Beers for service in the Union Army, !st Connecticut Heavy Artillery Regiment.
The certificate is 18\" X 24\" and is hand embellished with gold lettering detailing his service.
It is in an antique, 22 5/8\" X 28 3/4\", wooden frame with gilding. It has the original eye hooks on the back for hanging, but no wire.
It details his service as follows: 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery, Co. M, Co. E, Co. D. Co. F.. Mustered in - Feb. 1st 1862. Siege of Yorktown, Hanover C. H., Gaines Mills, Chickahominy, Golden Hill, Malvern Hill, Siege Train Army of the Potomac, Siege train Army of the James, Re-enlisted Veteran before Petersburg and Richmond 1864-\'65, Mustered out - Sept 25, \'65.
Condition: Certificate has age discoloration. There are also some particulates, in spots, between the certificate and glass. Overall it is in very good antique condition. The antique frame has expected discoloration, wear, and marks, (see pics)
