Complete Set of all 41 Munich Oktoberfest Rastal Beer MugsThis is a complete set of Munich, Germany Oktoberfest beer mugs from 1978 to 2018. Although the Oktoberfest has been held annually in Munich since the early 1800\'s, the official Rastal souvenir beer mugs were not offered until 1978. They have been produced each year since, so this year marks the 41stconsecutiveyear of the official beer mugs. Offered here is the complete set of all 41mugs/steins. I have purchased some at the event in Munich over the years, and others online. I\'ve enjoyed collecting the mug from each year, but it is now time to downsize and let someone else enjoy the collection!
Here is a brief history of the annual Oktoberfest of Munich, Germany. It all began in 1810 with the wedding of the Bavarian crown prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxonia-Hildburghausen. The party was so successful that the people soon made the royal amusement their own. The party has continued ever since, and of course, beer is an iconic feature of the two-week party each year. The celebration begins in late September and ends in early October. In 1978, Rastal introduced an official souvenir clay beer mug for the Oktoberfest, and that tradition has continued for forty years. Rascalmakes the pieces and the artist that designs the image for that year\'s mug signs the mug.
The mugs are in very good condition. I have displayed them in my home but have never used them for beer or any other liquid. The mugs are approximately 7\" high, and weigh about 2.5 pounds each. The top diameter of the mugs is 3.5\", and the bottom diameter is about 4.25.\" There is a limit to the number of photos I can provide in this listing, so I have provided views of the 40 mugs in a display case, and I also show some of the individual mugs, including the first and current year piece. I also show in the last photo a typical artist signature on the bottom of the mugs.
Shipping will be provided via USPS or UPS or Fed Ex. Insurance will be included with the shipping charge. Since there are forty mugs to ship, they will be packaged in several boxes so that damage does not occur in shipping. The items will be packed well with bubble wrap and peanuts, and sturdy boxes. If actual shipping to your destination is less than the shipping charge you pay, I will refund the difference to you.
I prefer to sell the 41-mugs as a complete collection. If the listing does not sell, however, I may consider breaking the set apart and selling individual mugs or small groups of mugs at a time.
Great collection for a home or for a German restaurant or bar!
