Vintage User Surveying Instrument

Description: This sale is for the Dietzgen Transit Theodolite pictured. I am guessing it dates from the 1970s. This Japanese made Dietzgen transit has an optical plummet feature and appears to be in good condition. The optics are crisp and clear. Crosshairs are present and all motions move easily. A sturdy well made instrument that still has applications in the various building and engineering trades today or will make for a nice display piece. This instrument comes from a blueprint and surveying instrument shop that took in lots of optical surveying instruments as partial trade against new digital instruments. The fellow who owned the shop would clean and adjust those worthy and then put them on a shelf in the back or in the storage unit so they would not compete with the newer digital line of surveying instruments he was selling in the shop.
