About the AuthorLavone \"Pepper Paire\" Davis was born May 29th, 1924 in West LA, California. With a loving Mom who allowed her to be all she could be and a big brother to watch her back, she learned the important things in life early! Baseball was always important to her and it taught her teamwork and loyalty, while instilling in her a fearless desire to win. Pepper took a chance and joined the All American Girls Professional Baseball League in 1944. As a topnotch catcher she led her teams to five championships in ten years. She led the league in RBIs and the least strike-outs along the way. Fifty years later, she became Penny Marshall\'s choice as technical advisor on the smash hit film \"League of their Own\". Pepper also wrote the All American League song that was feature in the film. As you read \"Dirt in the Skirt\", which was written entirely by Pepper, I think you\'ll laugh with her, cry with her, love with her and play baseball with her.
