The ventral edge is a mauve color. The surface texture is velvet-like created by minute raised scales on finely-grooved or striated ribs from umbones to ventral margins of both valves. The right valve has rounded ribs of awesome golden-orange velvet-like raised scales and a few cream splotches radiating concentrically outward. Anterior and Posterior sides are mauve to vermilion color with irregular splotches of cream-white.
